Help No froyo update, is my phone branded?

I just got my desire and love everything. However I can't update to froyo right now it reads

Firmware Version 2.1 update 1
Software number 1.21.405.2 (which I found is an unbranded number)

I checked manually for the update and says no updates found. I bought this phone in Russia but comes from poland. I'm using it on Russian operator MTS.

Any other way to update to Froyo? As I've read the update is already released for all unbranded phones and I don't know if my current operator would make a difference.

There are manual methods, but it will wipe your phone. You just need to download a generic RUU and run it from your pc with your phone connected. Theres a thread about it by Teppic74 in the main forum somewhere
