No Gmail Notifications

My phone is suddenly getting no background notifications for new gmails from both my personal gmail and work Google apps account. I have to manually sync for anything to come through.

I have background notifications on and put the battery in performance mode to make sure it wasn't going to sleep.

Any help?

Are you using a battery monitoring app? I'd start there. How is your signal?

Otherwise, save your data, do a factory reset, and configure your gmail again.

No battery monitoring app. Good signal + Wifi. I did a factory reset and started over again, all is working now. Must have screwed something up somewhere along the line.

If you find yourself in a similar quandary, next time go to ACCOUNTS under SETTINGS and make sure Sync Mail is selected under your GMAIL accounts. Sometimes that unchecks itself if you've ROMed in the past. It might save you the hassle of reseting.

Yep, had checked that and it was set to sync. Another odd thing was I have the SMS Unread Count widget, and on one of the two accounts instead of a number it has a question mark as if it couldn't check with the account. I'm thinking I had some corruption somewhere.

At any rate, the next morning after the factory reset and I am still going good with notifications.
