Help No GPS lock

TommyVee

Newbie
For some reason, I cannot get my X to lock on to the sat. I took it to Verizon and two employees tried. I then wiped all the data. Still no lock. Not rooted. I did have VZ Navigator, but had them turn it off, didn't want to pay for it. It seems the problems started after I turned VZ off. Maybe they turned my GPS off also? Help!!

Tommy,

Whenever my phone won't connect to GPS, I'll either turn the phone off, or do a battery pull if it's been more than a few weeks since I've last pulled the battery. You probably already tried those two easy ways to try and fix your situation.

Being that the Verizon people couldn't get you back up and running is not surprising.

I've never messed with VZ Navigator since Google maps and the accompanying navigator seems to crush the limited program that Verizon ends up charging you for.

There's a free application called GPS Status 3.8.1 that you might try downloading, and it might give you clues as to why your GPS seems to be non-functional.

Wow, thanks M, squeezing on the upper left of the battery cover does the trick. Something inside must have come loose. I guess I'll try to figure out a solution.

Update! I figured out where to push under the battery cover. I stacked three thin but stiff page markers and cutout a small piece. I placed it under the red battery pull flap. I had to push down a little to close the cover, but it worked. GPS at last!!
