Help No internet with Wifi connection

Hey there,

I've some trouble with my Incredibe S. I just bought it yesterday and everything works fine except the internet connection when I'm on Wifi at home.
I haven't tried to get it work on an another wifi network.
Except that i've tried every thing:
- Switching plane mode on/off
- Changed multiple things in multiple combinations at my modem/router like:
allow multicast on/off
interface type a/b or only a or only b
multiple channels automatic/manual/1/2/3/4/5/6/7 ect.
encryption type none/WEP/WPA PSK/EAS/TKIP
Also restarted 10 times or so and reset the modem/router 3 times.

Please HELP!! I'm desperate!

Does the WiFi connection say "enabling" and then almost immediately "disconnected?" If so, you made a typo when entering your key. I've had the same problem on a couple different devices, but once I enter the key properly, I get a working connection. There's no error message if you input the key incorrectly, so it's easy to do.
 
Hi. I have the exact same problem on my Incredible S (2.2.1). bought yesterday.

Tried everything exactly as topicstarter described he did but with no luck.

No datatransfers on the WIFI though .. 3G works flawlessly.

Running on an ADSL+ Speedtouch 780wl

Also other devices are connected to the wlan... for example my old HTC p3600.


Much help would be appreciated!
 
Hey there,

I've tried some other Wireless networks around and they all connect and give acces to internet except the ones from Speedtouch.
I don't know why but that's what I found. So my father is getting a new modem in about a month. We've got the Speedtouch707A0B.

@ TechnicolorShop I found out that my modem has got no more support. The name 'Thomson' and model-name 'Speedtouch' does no longer exist. I think your modem will still have support for a while because it's newer than mine.
Maybe you could try to update the firmware of your modem.

Sadly enough this is al I could find out. I wished that it had worked directly. Well, at least I'm glad that it isn't my phone that's not working properly. And now I finally founded a good reason for my father to buy a new modem at last.
 
Indeed, the Thomson Speedtouch have flaky performance issues. And like you say the support is horrible, in fact support doesn
 
ok I used static IP on my HTC Incredible S. You need to put 255.255.252.0 in netmask instead of the usual 255.255.255.0.

Unfortunately I can't find anywhere on my Speedtouch where I can change the netmask to 252 instead of 255.
Anyone has an idea?
 
hello, i seem to be having this same problem i was wondering if someone could walk me through the solution ive tried setting up a static i.p but i dont know what to put in the boxes any help would be much appreciated!

Would much appreciate the same detailed walkthrough by someone. Am at a friend's house and he has a speedtouch router, so don't want to screw it up!

you have to log into you router via a webbrowser (example: http:/192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254

Best way is to check the manual for your router how to log into it.

If you are logged in to your router there should be a so called "client list" that displays all your computers and devices assigned IP
