No Keyboard in Google Message App

When I've created a group to send a text message to, the keyboard doesn't appear. I need to back out to the opening screen, tap on group in the directory, and go back to text screen. Then the keyboard appears. That's a pain in the neck. I have the latest version of Google's app. What's up?

Could be a glitch in the apps latest update, I would either wait for a new update, or try to uninstall and reinstall the GM app, see if that resolves the issue.

It didn't work. But thanks for the suggestion.

I've been having the opposite issue on Messages. Sometimes can't get the keyboard to go away.

also what messaging app are you using? maybe try a different one.
