Help No more 3G drops??

Don't expect no drops at all, ever...3G service is dependent on a variety of factors. If what was reported earlier today by a user here is correct, Virgin did upgrade their network yesterday to add servers and/or bandwidth to better handle traffic and offer greater speeds, and some users are reporting higher speeds today than prior. That should help with the drops issue, but if individual towers fail, or there are other issues on a local level, or if an account was never properly provisioned by VM, 3G issues will persist for some users, even in a best case scenario.

I had 2 drops today :< But hey I hope things get better they couldn't get any worse. Data would drop every day since I got this phone, usually around 5 when everyone gets off work and uses their phone? It is very annoying. VM has trained me well to go into wireless and tun off data.

Cricket doesn't do this, their speed is worse but at least you can use their phones. This LG is super nice though. I had read about these optimus ones for months, I never imagined trading down to one. Other than high end gaming it is wonderful.

I had some droids on Verizon. And once / twice a month I would need reset it to get back a wonky signal, I don't know I can't even remember doing it semi regularly. Strangely Sprint has a better signal than anything I have ever used. Other than my sisters Cricket Haweii Ascend.

What steps can we take to ensure we're provisioned properly? I've literally asked this question 5 times in E-mails and calls to VM and have yet to get an answer to that specific question.

You need to get CS to submit a trouble ticket to engineering, citing persistent issues and what they are. They will ask you for a lot of detail about your phone and location. There has been a mention in some forums of there being a need to have the phone provisioned for "Android 3G data". I had no MMS for three weeks until VM engineering reprovisioned my phone.

I've had the same thing happen with Sprint before...when you make an account change, sometimes their servers don't get complete instructions as to what services are to be provisioned for your phone, and they have to be reset. This can be particularly problematic if you are outside the home area of your phone's area code when the changes are made, because that's where the instruction set is initially sent to, assuming your phone is there.

INo more 3G drops??

Ive only been using VM for 5 days now. I am by no means an expert.

I have noticed that 3G works great from 7am until 5pm-ish. From 5 until now, no 3G.

Im sure it is locale dependent, but 5-6pm w/ no coverage seems standard in my area. A bit frustrating, but consider the cost of the plan($25/mo), I can live w/ it. Calling still works anyway.

Same here in Central Florida, 5pm no 3G service.

My 3G coverage has been spotty. Most of the day on Sat and Sun I kept getting a "network error please try again later" type of message. Just bought the phone on Friday.

After the great "outage" a few days ago, things were looking up, but VM's shitty service is back to its old tricks. Constant 3g restarts needed throughout the day.

Over the last three days, I have not lost data connectivity at all. (Prior to this I had to turn data off/on at least three times per day to restore my data connection.)

I assume that there was a general network or provisioning fix on VM's end because I haven't made any changes to my phone or account, nor had I placed a trouble ticket. Hopefully those of you who are still experiencing random loss of data connectivity will see the problem disappear shortly.

yesterday was an improvement only had to rest data off/on twice and onetime it was able to reconnect automatically after 15 mins or so.
Today was great i had no connectivity lost at all.
