I rooted my x using z4root and it worked flawlessly. Today moto and verizon forced gingerbread onto my phone. Didnt want it but had no choice. I downloaded gingerbreak, made sure my sd was mounted and had my usb debug enabled but it just wouldnt work. I let it go multiple times for as long as a half hour, but nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

gingerbreak doesn't work on the ota. you'll have to sbf back to froyo and flash the pre-rooted GB file that can be found in the sticky thread. would link to it but I'm on the phandroid app

I SBF'ed to .340 last night because I was running ApeX 1.41 and wanted GB. I made the mistake of updating the phone OTA. Since that meant I couldn't root I just SBF'ed back to .340 again so I could install the rooted version of .596. It wasn't all that bad.

You can copy and post link sims but you have to be using the browser and not phandroid and its also a pain in da butt....lol
