Help No more silent mode?

gtsistiny

Newbie
Just got the new update today. Along with things being new colors (which I don't like), I cant get my ally into silent mode. I press the volume down button, but it won't go below vibrate. Please help.

There is silent modem just go to settings, then sound. Find silent mode. There should be options with no vibrate, always vibrate.....

I'm having the same problem.. When I go I press volume arrow
Down to go silent it just goes to vibrate and stays.
Hope someone will come up with a solution.

Go to Settings > Sound > Vibrate > Only When NOT In silent Mode

This time, I did not get a Vibrate Mode option.

Before Afteraffekt's strategy, I downloaded the "SilentMode OnOff" widget by CurveFish. It does what it needs to do, and it gives me the option of Sound, Vibrate and Silent. This will just have to work until there's a (possible) update for this problem.

Google took out the volume down to silent mode in FroYo only way is by widgets or as afteraffekt said the settings

I use the "MySettings" app. I like it a lot... easy way to adjust the volume settings, and also things like brightness, toggling wifi on/off, GPS, autosync, among other options. I use it all the time. :)

this is absolute CRAP.......nevermind all the damn glitches...but this is a conscious change they made.....what the heck was wrong with having silent mode accessable throught the damn volume button...seriously??

ALSO......

when you are in silent mode, there is no longer the icon that let you know you were in silent mode....the task bar shows nothing, which is EXACTLY how it looks when at full volume.....

any idea how worrysome that is while at work....at my job my phone can NOT go off...if it does, i will be in serious trouble......why on earth remove such a convenient option??

why make it more steps to do something after an update?

this really has me hating my phone now.......and hating this update even more......

IT MAKES ZERO SENSE

When I first upgraded to Froyo using Savoxis's "fully automated magical wonder flasher!" I was disappointed at losing the silent feature. I had been using the toggle widget that came with my BeautifulWidgets app and selected the "Timed Silence" toggle which has worked out very nicely seeing as you can skin the toggle to suit. However after reading this and thread and applying the mentioned settings in Android Menu's (which by the way work) I am left feeling a little bit dumb for not figuring it out on my own!! :D
