No more track ball. :/

Coming from the incredible I am finding that I miss the trackball. I constantly find myself reaching for it.

I have to agree 100%. My biggest complaint so far with the Rezound is this.

I find myself tapping in the address bar of Dolphin Browser to surf to a related address, and I can NEVER make it happen -- it is absolutely impossible to put the cursor at the end of the current URL.

On my Inc, not a problem -- tap anywhere and scroll over to the end. With this beast, it simply cannot be done. Tapping at the end of the URL blanks out the whole line; I can't get the cursor at the very end of the URL.

Considering this thing feels, like, 5x the size of the Inc, you'd think they could have managed a tiny little old optical tracker. :-(

You know, I liked my trackball too. I didn't use it that much but it was handy for certain things. I don't miss the trouble I had with mine however. Working in a dusty environment.... the phone would freak out from time to time and it was always that trackball needing cleaning.

Hmmm....... Never having had one (Came from a DX and a Thunderbolt) I honestly don't see what the need is with a touchscreen. My friends with Blackberrys always seemed to be having trouble with theirs.

It might take a few days, but I do believe you'll grow to like it.

I quickly got used to not having it. It really wasn't needed. I can quickly get to any point in a line for editing without the trackball. The larger screen on the Rezound makes it easier that it did with the smaller screen on my Incredible.

Had a Thunderbolt and now on the Droid Charge and I really miss the trackpad on my old Incredible. Why are manufactures not utilizing them more!?
I've used it very frequently and it was perfect for links that were small without having to zoom in very close.

Honestly, i remember so many people saying (when the Inc came out), "You have a touchscreen.. you don't need the trackball". Those who said that, apparently never tried to select text on the bloody thing without it. I still have issues where the selection cursor can jump around, and would kill for the trackball...

I've always been disappointed that people are confusing the Inc's trackpad for a trackball. There's no spherical rotating object anywhere on the device.

Nevertheless, I do miss it because I used it all the time for cursor positioning.

My husband just showed me this today, and it helped as I was a die-hard trackball user on my Incredible.

When you are typing something and then tap the screen elsewhere, there is a little tag underneath, you can easily drag that where needed instead of tapping and tapping, hoping to hit the right place.

True, though I find that to be a little too sensitive most times
