Hey all,
Captivate 2.2 user here (Not rooted yet)
A couple of weeks back, I lost all 3g/edge capabilities. I reset my wireless card, restarted the phone, and have now reset the phone to factory defaults. However, even after a few SIM card switches, no network is available. For a while, soon after a restart, the 3g symbol would pop up in the notifications bar, but only for a minute, and then disappear, never to come back. The Wi-Fi works fine, although sometimes it will freeze up upon retrieving an IP address and force me to restart the phone in order to get back on.
I've been in contact with AT&T regarding this matter. They suggested that a possibility of 3 things could be an issue here:
SIM card (although they have been new, so only the receivers on the phone would be at fault there)
Some App or Firmware issue (now remedied by the factory reset, I'm sure...)
Hardware issue
Has anyone had this issue before? Unfortunately, I may have to part with the phone and send it in to Samsung if I cannot find a good solution for this.
