no notification sound for texts

cant seem to find another thread but apologies if there is....

just recently my desire doesnt make and sound for messages....

just vibrates, ive tried all the basic stuff in the settings even changed the tone a few times...just nothing...any ideas??

menu > settings > sound > volume > adjust notification volume

yes mate...tried alot of things even installed tone picker and sound manager to try and figure it out....

no joy starting to think im gonna have to reset.....

right i did a factory reset.....sorted the problem now i cant change the tone for a message???

Try downloading Zedge from the market and selecting something you like and setting as a notification. Works for me.
