no notification sounds

[Devendra95]

I was setting up gmail today and looked for notification sounds but inside the gmail app didn't have any which is strange. I went to settings and tapped on sounds then notification sounds and I got a menu that says "none". I don't know what's going on because I know the nexus 7 comes with a load of sounds that can be picked for any type of notification. Please see the attached image.

I just returned a nexus 7 that would lose the notification sound until I restarted it.
