Hi Guys

Sorry if this has already been asked, i have looked but can't find anything.

I find the facebook App really poor. I don't seem to be getting notifactions when i get a message or someone posts on my wall.
I have checked the settings and i have ticked all the options but nothing.

Am i right in thinking that the phone should alert me to any post even when i am on the home screen (i.e. not in facebook app)?

I would be grateful if someone coudl help.

p.s. updates are set to every 30 mins
 
It's the exact same for me. Status updates show up on Friend Stream (I'm on a HTC Desire with Sense 2) but I only ever get notifications from FB when the FB app is running. I would really like to get some help on this.

this bugged me when i first got my phone but i think its just a problem with the app. theres not much more u can do from what i know and i have had a good old look into it.
 
Thanks guys. This is really annoying. Maybe we could email the developer?
Things like this should work as it is a big part of the app
 
I've just been playing around and noticed something.
If you press - MENU -SETTINGS - ACCOUNTS AND SYNC - mine shows Facebook for HTC Sense,
I clicked add new account and foudn that there is Facebook - under that is Facebook for HTC sense. I tried to add the FACEBOOK one but nothing happens, even if i remove the Facebook for sense account
Any ideas?
 
Really strange. downloaded Froyo 10 mins ago and it still wont work either.
 
Sine the Froyo update i cant refresh the news feed. Just keeps saying an error has occured........ then no data.

I think i have sorted it.

If you go to People and click on one of the accounts you have linked to facebook, then click on the sync symbol at the bottom. Next click on Menu - Settings
then check both Update notifactions and Event Notifcations. I have had 12 notifactions in the last 30 mins..... doesnt play a sound though. Try it and let me know if you find anything else out
 
Been in contact with HTC who say they didnt know this wasnt working currectly. After a few back and forwards emails they have confirmed they are on the case and will be contacting Facebook to work on improving the App.

Could just be words, time will tell.
