Help No OTA or Kies updates stock ROM unrooted

Hi

A while back I rooted my S3 only to unroot it later. I returned to the stock ROM and unrooted it but I have noticed a problem. I have never got OTA updates since, the latest Kies just says "Unsupported connection mode alert" and the old version of Kies said the firmware could not be checked.

Obviously I did something wrong when I put it back to stock. Can anyone point me in the direction of my error?

I returned it to an unbranded stock ROM if that made any difference.

When you check in settings, about phone, status, does it say the phone is "modified" or anything?

Just checked and under status it is listed as Normal.

Curious, what android version are you on?

Im not sure what happens when you flash unbranded firmware on a branded phone tbh. If it blocks updates or whatever(?)
Take it its the international s3 mate? Its cool though you can manually flash the updates yourself :thumbup:

I was on 4.1.1. Flashed latest version myself.

How do I tell if its the international version? I know it came from Greece for some reason.

When you unrooted did you use Triangle Away to reset the counter?

Yes. There could be a problem getting updates as it is seeing the phone was at one time modified.

Easiest thing to do is find the firmware on sammobile.com and flash it using Odin on a PC :thumbup:
