Help No Picasa in Google Account Setup

Never mind. I just got it working. When the Gallery launches, there was an alert that it was asking for permission into my Picasa account, which I did not notice. Once I acknowledged and allowed permission, all of my albums, both private and public are available. Awesome!!! Thanks.

Where is that permission? I can view public albums but not private ones.

Edit: Mistaken, can't view any picasa albums.

Edit x2: Figured it out. Alert was in phone alert area (duh). Just to note if someone else does this, use task-killer to end the Gallery program after giving permission to access Picasa if your albums don't show up.

I heard the .apk on the Incredible doesn't work well at all. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard issues were aplenty.

Gallery up and syncing with my Picasa web albums. Camera set to use SD card and pics automatically show up in "100Media" folder of gallery.

This thread = very helpful.

It works fine. you just can't click the camera app icon within the 3d gallery.

When you say works fine and then say "but you can't do such and such, because it crashes", then it isn't working fine.

Yes, the gallery in question is very good, but it has some issues. The photo viewer on the phone works just fine, though. Unless something has changed, the Picasa PixelPipe app should still work with moving files back and forth or storing them on Picasa. My girlfriend used that on her Droid.

Yes, in my opinion it works fine.

okay so I am back to the permissions issue. I thought the permission alert happened when you first launch Gallery and I just didn't notice it but I am trying to get it working on my wife's DI and I can't get the alert to show up. I have been able to successfully upload a photo to her Picasa web album from the regular phone app.

Also, for some reason, when I have a pic selected in Gallery and hit "Share", it doesn't show me the "Messages" app, only Handcent.

However, I'd contend that launching the camera is an ancillary feature of the application, and in no way affects it's day to day functionality as an image gallery. It works fine as an image/Picasa gallery :)

You ever gone fishing? :-)

gallery picks up a cache folder, a movie i have and an icons folder, can I somehow remove these without actually deleting the files so all i see are my picasa web albums?

Finally have Gallery working like a charm (camera and all) on my DInc!

I downloaded the latest apk, "GalleryFixed Camera.apk", from xda developers forum to my computer and emailed it to myself. NOTE: If you have the camera icon force quitting issue you have an older version of the apk. This one apparently was released within the past week.

I used tattachapkinstaller from the Droid market that installs apks attached to emails (just click on preview button in Gmail and it opens the installer). Picasa sync option now appears in Google account section. Gallery's up and running and syncd to my Picasa albums and the camera icon now works.

Yes, my Gmail contact pics showed up without me doing anything special. You can also edit your contact and select whether you want their gmail photo or facebook photo, etc... to appear as the default contact photo...

Does anyone have a copy of the file they can post (not the location), for some reason I am having issues accessing the file location on the other message board? Thank in advance!
