Help No pics in facebook sync w/contacts

I dont know if its a ics thing or what but there is no pictures with the contacts after importing from facebook app , sprint galaxy nexus , any thoughts?

Yep, this is an ICS thing. Google wanted to go big with ICS in pairing it with Google+, thus blocking the importing of FB pics for contacts. There are work arounds; I know the main one is through custom ROMs. May be others but I'm not positive as I don't sync my FB account.

This is the one you want to use. They just put out an update that lets you use 512 x 512 px photos. That's the best out of the 3 or 4 major apps sync your FB pictures that I know of. The others are really small (and then pixelated when stretched) on the high res GNex.

Yeah, as far as I know, it's never been in "stock"Android.

Manufacturer UI's add syncing sometimes, I know HTC sense did.

It used to be supported until Facebook make some changes to their privacy policy. Google didn't like that, so they said "no Android for you" until they change it back.

Truth, this is the best Facebook photo syncing app out. Note, if you want your pictures to be 512 x 512 res, go into Settings -> Accounts & sync -> Facebook contact sync -> Account settings -> Picture size. From there you'll be able to choose the resolution of the pictures you sync. Otherwise your pictures come out in the standard 256 x 256, I think.

Yeah, so the full list is:

Facebook Contact Sync (it appears in your apps list as just Contact Sync)-- my recommendation

Haxsync

Friendcaster (this is a full replacement for the Facebook app, but you can just use it to sync pics and turn off notifications, etc. if you don't want to use it that way)

Syncmypix

I'm sure there are plenty of others, but these are the reputable ones that I know people on here have used. I've used one or two of the other ones, and I know that at the time, their "high res" options still wasn't high res for the GNex's 720p screen. But then again, neither was FB Contact Sync. Just this past week, they put out an update that did 512 x 512, which looks pretty nice. Just barely under putting the photo on your phone storage and setting the contact picture from it (assuming the friend's picture is a decent resolution). I don't know if the others have caught up yet, but that's why I recommend that one. Besides it being easy to set up. I did Friendcaster before, but since I didn't want the full Facebook stuff, it was just too bloated for what I wanted. Plus, it can correctly update photos on a schedule that you set (every day, once a week, once every two weeks, once a month, etc.). I think some of the others have issues where the updates just don't happen.
