no playback

i can download music from my computer to my phone but it won't play them back, it gives me an error message. What is the prob.?

What format are the music files? It might not be supported by the phone - what does the error msg say, exactly?

Are the files in *wma format? I've had problems with those in the past - the format isn't universally supported.

You can likely find something online that will convert a wma to a mp3. I think all android phones will play the mp3 files.

I think Poweramp plays .wma files.

Have your WMAs got DRM on them? Where they purchased from something like Napster? No Android will play DRM'd WMA, they're Windows Media Player only.

There's apps that'll play non-DRM Windows Media no problem, Like Poweramp and Winamp for Android.
