Help no playlists

Newbie
hello all this is my first post so if i put this in the wrong place or anything feel free to move it or whatever.
so here's my my problem, i dl'ed the froyo update manually from the samsung website (used the windows version) and had zero problems.then i go to add a few songs using isyncr wifi and my playlists disappear. i use the stock music player and dont really want to use another one because i really like it, having the same issue if i connect to my computer and use regular isyncr. the weird thing is that if i go to my playlist tab in the music player immideately after i sync they are there with music and all but they will disappear. its really frusterating and i havent been able to find any solutions after searching for hours. someone please have a fix.

Which update method have you used?

Have you tried a reboot or hard reset?

What about exiting the app then reenntering it?

i updated straight from the samsung website using the windows option. i didnt do anything other than that.
i've reset, rebooted, reinstalled, rejustabouteverything except hard reset which i suppose may fix it but i dont like to do that until im outta options ya know?
i know that its just playlists they can be remade right? i just hate to redo all of them as i have quite a bit of music :(
Edit: hard reset did nothing.

I'm having the exact same issue.. Updated in the same way, and now USB or wifi iSyncr syncs will move copy the songs over, but not the playlists. Also, I can't add any size of the Music Ratings widget from iSyncr..do you have this issue as well?

Anyone figured this out yet? I haven't reached out to the dev yet because I thought it was just me, but if the issue isn't unique...

ok i fixed it, but it may be kinda of a ghetto fix. perhaps there is an easier way if there is i would love to hear it. anyway... heres what i did
-in itunes on my computer i made an m3u file of all the playlists i wanted on my phone. (right click export playlist)
-i synced all my music
-i put a .nomedia (to make this u open notepad and save a blank file as .nomedia and change the file type to all) in a sub folder in my music folder on my phone. i called the folder playlists.
-added the playlist m3u's to the playlist sub folder.
-i also added a .nomedia to a subfolder i made for my playlists in my backup folder along with the playlists.
-i unmounted the phone and let it scan. at first it still didnt see the playlists so i moved just the m3u's from "playlists" to just the regular music folder and left the playlist folder empty except the .nomedia. sometimes it still wouldnt pick up all the playlists but if i copied whatever playlist from the back up folder and put it in the music folder that seems to do the trick.

i know this is a long fix and im sure i have steps that are not needed but i did the best i could. if anyone can find a simpler solution i would really love to hear it.

Alright, I found the "non-ghetto" fix! Looks like the issue here is iSyncr not working with the new included music player in Epic's Froyo.

Solution:

Install the music player from JRTSTudio in the marketplace (this is the standard open source Android player), or an alternative like 3 or MixZing. This will allow the widget to work, and after a re-sync will get your playlists on the phone through iSyncr. I did my resync with the WiFi version, there was no need to recopy all my mp3s.

Also, you will need to edit your search options for the standard music search instead of Samsung's music player. As a side perk, when you search for a song it will play that song only again (like in 2.1), and not start playing through all your other music.

Well, it looks like I am not quite as "fixed" as I thought. The widget does work, but the playlists show up only briefly after a sync, and then disappear again??

Looks like a bug! I'll be reporting it to the developer, hope that you do the same so that they can have a look at it.

Hello All,

I think this bug will be fixed in iSyncr 2.0.3. I've already had one person test it.

If you would like to test the fix, please e-mail me by using your app and pressing "Help->Feedback/Support". I'm more than happy to get you a preview build or help you with any other issues you are seeing.

Cheers!

Justin
