Root No Ringtone or Notification Sound on Liquid 3.2

DPayne216

Newbie
Running Luquid Gingerbread 3.2 on my DINC2 and have started to notice I have notice I have no sound at all for my incoming calls, texts, and emails. The phone will vibrate only for text messages, so any calls I get are not noticed by me unless I am looking at it the phone. When I went into the settings area to try and change the ringtones, I would get no audio preview. Being fairly new to rooting I have no idea where to look at this point. I have not been able to find anything about this issue, so I am hoping someone with more experience can point me in a direction.

Android 2.3.7
Kernel 2.6.35.14 cyanogenmod

I only ask because I didn't see you say it, but do you have your volume turned up?

Otherwise the only thing I can think of is reflashing the rom over your current setup. No wipe, just flash. If something is wrong with the system files, that should take care of it.

I should have listed that I have indeed turned the volume up. No ring on full volume or anything, not even a vibrate for incoming calls when texts work.

I have tried re flashing the rom, no dice. Good though but that didn't work. Am I possibly looking at doing a complete wipe now?

New installs are pretty fast with the right tools. I use 4EXT recovery and Titanium Backup. If you use the Sense launcher MyBackup will backup your home screens. There are other tools for messages and bookmarks.

Ive used Titanium backup before. I had a few issues with some roms though after data backup. Thank you for the information. I don't mind doing a wipe but I would like to avoid it if I can.
