Help No SD Card Question

I have been looking and cannot find the answer to my question. I am considering switching to Sprint and this phone is probably my favorite given the price for features.

Since this phone does not have the ability to use a SD card, does that mean that all the apps must remain in the regular memory? I have most of my apps on my current phone moved to the SD card to save app space. I am thinking that this phone will allow that as well, but just to the extra memory space instead of the card. Can someone confirm how this works on a phone without a card slot? Thank you!

I downloaded, as it was free on app a day through Amazon's Appstore, the app2sd pro or some app like that as I don't have the phone in front of me at the moment. There is plenty space for apps, like 1GB worth, I have downloaded so far as much as I wanted, including games, using 550MB right now. I will try the app2sd card option, but the problem is that with some apps, you have to be careful as it would limit the capabilities and functions of the app. I can't remember which app it is right now that prompted me about that, I want to say Beautiful Widgets, as the widget would not work correctly. But the app2sd, if it would allow me to, and has prompted me on some apps I have downloaded since installing it, to move to sd if they are able to, would write to the 16GB worth I hope. I'll give it a try, but compared to say a Behold 2, or a MyTouch3G Slide, where the internal memory is small and you really need to rely on the app2sd to save you some space, this is beyond that, plenty of space. Wish it was 2Gb instead, but oh well. And I am running stock, no root, so someone that has more experience with those tweeks might chime in, but that is what I have with it right now.

Thank you for the reply. You are correct on the widget app. No widgets work when moved to the sd card. As for the App2SD app itself, it is not necessary. The OS has the exact same ability built in to it. My question is a little different than that. The Nexus S 4G does not have a sd card slot, so I want to know if the OS can basically do the same thing, but to the internal 16GB of memory. The 1GB is a lot of RAM, but I have a feeling that I could fill it. There are some large apps out there. Plants vs. Zombies for example is almost 100MB alone. That is one app taking almost 10% of the memory if it must reside in the RAM. I have it moved to the sd card on my current phone and it is around 1MB. That is a BIG difference.

Anyone have any actual experience moving apps on this phone? It seems like it would be possible, but I would like some actual proof from someone who has done it.

Ok just think of it as a sd card that you can't see it with your eyes, touch it or take it out. But it works just the same. I have a NS4G and have moved all the apps that can be moved to sd.

Great! That is what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure. Now to just convince the wife to leave MetroPCS and go with Sprint... :p

Yeah, what BigToys said. I was worried when I upgraded to the Nexus S 4G, and there was no place for my mini-sd card.

So far, I have had the phone for a month, been downloading all sorts of crap, and so long as I keep moving them to the internal SD space, 16BG is a lot of space to fill, and the main memory is actually plenty.

Hope the phone fits your needs! best of luck.
