No Service Tonight, AGAIN.

So, is anyone else having a service outage tonight? About 2 hours ago, both my voice and data quit working. My account is current and is set to renew early next month.

About an hour ago, the 3G data services came back, but the voice calls are still out. I have 6 bars of service, but the moment I attempt to place a call, all 6 bars disappear and I get some form of error, like call has been lost.

I desperately need to make a call into my work phone to check messages, but that's obviously not happening. It's 2am, so can't use a friend's phone. I'd like to contact Virgin Mobile but ... well, you know, without any phone service you can't call them.

Thank goodness I don't have any 911 emergencies.

This has got to be one of the greatest handheld devices I've ever owned, and yet one of the poorest services ever bundled with the device. Between this and the neverending text messaging failures, this phone's out-of-box experience has been a serious disappointment.

go to system update and update profile and PRL. I have to do this atleast 3x in a day because of where I live lucky for me I'm moving to a new house soon with AWESOME FULL BARS coverage but no 4G (**** it I got wifi lmao and full 3G power) anyways do those 2 things it should fix your phone.... I called Virgin and complained about my service and they said they are aware of the problem and are looking into a fix.... So hopefully they release a update soon so I can have a full working phone lol.

I spent the last two hours attempting to update profile, PRL, and even a few battery pulls for good measure.

This phone (or rather Virgin Mobile's service) has been a bad joke from day one. The regret from purchasing this device is approaching Triumph status.

Awww man that sucks. So far I have had no problems. Rooted it on day one and turned out into an evo3d three next. I have had great 3g and 4g service. Lucky that in Modesto ca they have 4g towers almost everywhere, literally. Great for school because the wifi there blows bubbles out of unicorns asses. I had a problem like what you have happen to me on my sprint evo shift. I took the battery out for an hour put it back in only got voice service called sprint they did something at there end then told me it would reboot and to leave it alone for an hour. Then it worked. Any who, I hope you get your phone working.

... because the wifi there blows bubbles out of unicorns asses....

Oh, yeah! Because I've noticed here in the adult business world that there are multitudes of times when things blow bubbles out of unicorn's asses.

The "fix everything" thread has hit nearly 600 posts, would you recommend reading through just that first post, then, or all 600 to try and get the device working as it should have ... out of the box?

Service outages are why I always have a Google Voice account as backup.

Service outages are why I canned my land line and bought a (relatively expensive) device to replace it. It's my understanding that wireless technology, due to it's 911 requirements, has some form of redundant systems, so that when the primary system goes down unexpectedly, or for periodic maintenence, that the secondary systems are in place so that emergency calls can still be made.

Of course, Virgin Mobile couldn't give a rats crap about reliability.

Looks like voice calling is not working again, but now in the middle of the workday. Text messaging is working, so I contacted two other Virgin Mobile users and their voice calling isn't working either.

same here, 4 vm phones no outgoing calls, i can call in from landline but it rings once then about 15 seconds of silence and then rings 4 times before the cell starts ringing but it will connect and work (if thats any consolation)

Nothing is working for me right now, same for my girlfriend....I wonder if sprint is doing some tower upgrades or if its just VM issues, where are you guys from?

on vm fb page it looks nation wide
Im glad I didnt start messing with s-off cause this might have drove me nuts thinking I messed something up

After 12 hours, still can't make or receive phone calls. Confirmed with 2 other Virgin Mobile users.

Wow. This is just getting silly.

After that Friday downtime, can anyone comment on the texting and call drops? Any improvement in service/operation with this particular device?

Just be sure to call and get credit for the down time. Last time it happened to me, it was down for 3 days for tower mods, and I got a $25 credit.

Heck, I just got my 3G back in Maryland. Was down 4 weeks! Managed limp along with limited 4g here and there for the time it was out:mad:
