No signal after LCD Replacement

i had cracked my digitizer and lcd. i had them replaced. i can tell you they did a horrible job.

anyway, after replacing the screens. it worked great except i had a extremely low signal. i got a phone with a bad charger port and swapped out the main boards. still the same issue.

any ideas why i would lose the signal with just a lcd replacement?

does anyone know where the antenna is?

who are "they"?

did you have a new handset to begin with or are you working with a refurb?

whomever "they" are, you need to take it back and have them test it. if you are getting poor signal quality/performance from work done on the handset, its their issue.

a friend of a friend that works on phones did it as a favor. i was going to go back to them, but i can just fix it, then i'd just do that.

it was a new phone, not a refurb

would re-installing the OS do any good? i tried resetting it back to factory settings and that didn't do anything.

no, it sounds like something physical has been damaged or not re-installed correctly if you are having the issues you state. without any of us on this forum being able to actually see the handset, its going to be difficult to lend any help. your best off going back to your friend and having them open it up and make sure nothing was damaged.

Usually there is a small cable that goes from the antenna board to the RF board of the unit.
I once replaced the glass/lcd/digitizer on an iphone 4 and forgot to hook up the RF connector and the unit had no / poor signal. Its entirely possible the antenna was not hooked up to the RF board. But i have as of yet to take apart one of those.
Go to YouTube and see if someone has done a repair video and pay close attention to any reference of antenna connectors.
