I just picked up the Samasung Infuse....love the phone but, geeze, can it be any more confusing to for a non-thechie to do simple things like import contacts & bookmarks, ect from Outlook & IE. I was able to get my music transferred from itunes, ect but good grief the rest is a pain....
I am missing something here?

It takes awhile, especially when you're used to another OS-I'm from the Palm world, it's in a different galaxy than Android :) There's a lot of stickies and help here, just be patient and all will be revealed ;)

it is easy.. and intuitive.. but you have to break the other-os way of doing things.

with android.. most things you are trying to do... there are 2 things that you can try first.

"menu" button
or
touch & hold the item you want to do something first.

I got the music transferred using a program and app called doubleTwist.
If you search, there ia a youtube video that shows exactly how it is done...
let me know if you can't find it & I'll try to get it to you... the only downside is that the protected music wont transfer unless you
upgrade which is .30 per song... over half of mine were protected
but it is an easy upgrade, except for the expense.

now, if I can just get my contacts to sync with outlook
& my bookmarks with IE, I'll be set...

I'm not techie (obvious) but if you can import your contacts to a gmail account (set-up one if you don't have one), it will pair with the Infuse.

Also, there are apps. that will pair with Outlook accounts.

Question for you: what do you mean by "upgrade" to get protected songs?

look for a program called 3herosoft ipod to computer transfer. it allows you to extract ALL music, photos and ringtones from your iDevice. I dont have any purchased music, so I dont know about the drm protection, but it does work for getting it off the phone.

iPod to Computer Transfer - iPod transfer to copy ipod music/video

there is the program link, but I'm sure if you look around you can find a site you can "borrow" it from.

Instead of using up the mem on your phone...u guys should stream your music using google music or amazon cloud

streaming your media.. will be a beating on your battery life.
since it has to be constantly downloading the data.

also.. some of my music is "borrowed".. I am not sure how that would work. Would they be able to notice it? then I can get into trouble.

I agree with streaming. I have both of those services you mentioned, but the best is really Orb Live. The only price you pay is the phone app -- about $10. No monthly fees and no need to upload the music you already own at home. You stream your music from your home computer. Google and Amazon both have a limit and will eventually charge the user. With Orb the only cost is the phone app.

I would stream through the Google music invite I finally got. However I'm not so sure because I'm getting data anxiety. I'm afraid of this 2gb limit.

In either case, Google or Amazon, you have to upload all your music. If you have a large music library, that's awful and very time consuming. That's why I prefer Orb Live. I just play what's on my computer.
