Help No sound when video recording

ManaBurnX

Newbie
I've had my Note 2 since around the middle of February and this just recently started happening. When I record video, even with the default settings, and play it back, there is no audio at all. I've played other videos I recorded previously and the sound works fine on all of them. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it?

Update: I just tried recording audio using the voice recorder but there is also no sound when playing it back... So it seems that my phone is no longer recording audio at all! =O

Update 2: I can apparently record video with sound if I have my phone connected to the charger. I'm not sure if this means you can't record video with audio if you're battery is at a certain level or not but that's stupid if it is.

Have you got a custom ROM on your phone. I seem to remember reading (over @XDA) that a certain ROM has a bug in it that disables sound recording.

Is something blocking the mic?

Nope. Nothing at all

Nope. I'm running the normal TouchWiz.

It seems this is only the case when my battery gets low and the low battery message pops up. When I have full or more than 20% battery it seems to work fine.

Based on your own words, it sounds like you have some sort of battery saving app or option in the phone enabled which is preventing you from using certain features of your phone when the battery gets to a certain percent.

I'm actually not using any kind of battery saving option other than what comes with the stock touchwiz. I've never really been a fan of them after trying several on my old HTC One X. I do agree that it's something in the settings menu once my phone reaches a certain power level. I'll try and fiddle with the settings and see if something changed, maybe in the last update I received as it looks different when my battery is low than before.

I just had the same experience. The problem is how the video was recorded. To have sound in playback mode, you had to record the video in normal speed. I tried using fast motion because I was recording some racing. I thought by using fast mode, the video would be better. Instead, it recorded the video, but only plays it in a faster speed with no sound. Same in slow mode. Record in normal speed for sound. The program will ask you what speed you want to record in before you actually start.

It's power saving apps, when it reach certain level it made this problem. Just turn off power saving apps n the video recorder will play normally with sound. Can't wait samsung fix this bugs

that Co*KsU*King Note 4 made this repeatedly again and I lost sound... I think I turned on saving battery somehow because that popup window asked me.....
