Help no sound ????

hi ive only just realized but i dont get sound notification for text messages and email on my galaxy s2, i still get ring tone sounds and custom ring tone sounds.
it used to work fine now i have to check all the time for notifications.

im using Handcent, as it seems to be the best way of selecting tones.
and ive checked the settings and my message tone is listed as working but when i do a test it just vibrates..............

Have you tried Settings > Sound > Volume and made sure the Notification volume is set at a level greater than zero? Sounds like you've checked the settings in Handcent but not the phone itself.
