Root no sounds to wired headset

I have been messing around flashing different roms, and in my current setup, I just noticed I can't get any sound to my wired headset.. neither calls nor media. I am curently running Epic Experience, but as far as I know, that is not a bug on that rom. does anyone know if it could be the rom, or what I could have frozen or uninstalled to cause this? I did freeze the messaging app to use Handcent, and it dissapeared from my home screen, but when I defrosted it, the problem was still happening. thx

(it's not the headsets- tried 2 diff. ones, sound still comes out the regular speaker. headsets worked last night after flasing EE, so I guess it must be something I uninstalled. I may have to flash again and see...

very strange, but it started working again... must have tried it 20 times first, then later it started working. I wonder if tweaking the device in so many fun little ways can bring on strange quirks?

its possible i went about an hour of plugging and unplugging my headset a couple weeks ago when it decided that music should play through both the headset and the phone speaker...its just kind of a self fix thing i guess
