Root No Steady Signal or Data Connection

Android Version: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 (Tried them all)
Network: USCC
Taskiller Used?: Maybe (Juice Defender?)

Issue:

I need help. A little over a week ago I flashed the cyanogenmod 7 stable. I did a wipe of basically everything (user data, cache, dalvik, battery) and then flashed the rom via clockworkmod. Everything seemed fine at first, but I soon noticed that my signal was diminishing. I could no longer hold a steady signal. The signal would change from green to white like it was trying to grab for a signal; all in places where I would normally have a full signal.

I have been rooted since about December and have had no problems. I am with USCC. I have tried many roms in the past months too, including cyanogenmod RC4 with no problems. I am not exactly a noob, more like a noob +1, but I have exhausted everything I know to try.

That's above the level of noob+1. Maybe you're being too harsh on yourself there.

At this point you have tried pretty much everything.

Worst case scenario is returning to stock with an RUU (checking it works) then re-rooting.

Mind you, if the 2.2 RUU includes the 1.06 Hboot, thats as yet unrootable.

Maybe you could try Teppic74's downgrade tool, point it to your 2.1 RUU so it downgrades to 2.1 and then re-root?

Its a tricky one as there is no one right answer here. Its always going to be trial and error.

An update:
I returned to stock with the 2.1 RUU and the signal is a little better. I swear it's still not the caliber it was though. Someone told me about an RIL update on another website. Do you know anything about this? Does it apply to CDMA, because I can only find details about GSM RIL updates.

You have a stock RUU for uscc 2.1? If so, I'd love to get my hands on it.
