Help No System Sounds through Bluetooth!

Hey all, I'm new here, hoping I can get a little help about this problem...

I don't hear system sounds through bluetooth. For example:

I'm at the gym with bluetooth headset connect listening to spotify. If I receive a txt, or am using mapmyrun or anything, any other sound won't come through the headset, just the music. Is this normal? Is there a correction for this? It will pause the music and play the sound out of the headset though and start right back up.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Not that I have a solution to your problem, but I get notifications through all my BT car stereo devices just fine.
 
Your BT device only supports handsfree profile and not A2DP. Not the phone's fault.
 
Here is what I know exactly....

Music from every source I've tried from works. While music is playing, I'll get a deedle deedle for a phone call. Recently the app JEFIT has started playing sounds through my headset. However, mapmyrun will pause my music and give position updates verbally through the handheld. Also, txt messages, emails, and system alerts other than phone calls will come out through the handheld itself, not the BT speakers.
