Help no text message alerts

[xaney]

Hi guys. New here, so hope I am posting in the correct place.

I have the Evo 4G, and I am not alerted when I receive a textm no light, no sound, no vibration. I have the volume up, vibration on, everything up, up, up, but still nothing.

Downloaded a couple audio/sound managers from the market, and, nope, notta.... nothing.....

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Are you sure that Notifications are enabled in the text app?

Are you using the stock text app? My cousin had the no sound problem and it turned out that from the homescreen menu-settings -sound-notification sound it said none or something like that. She just had to pick a tone under that menu and it started working again
