I just rooted my Incredible, using the steps here:
http://www.jonamerica.com/technology/howto-root-the-htc-droid-incredible/
Everything worked as it should have.. with the exception of 1 thing... I no longer seem to have the USB Notification icon appear when i connect to my PC.
Before, this icon would come up.. i could pull down the notification tray, and select either charge (if i want to listen to music) or disk drive, if i wanted to copy stuff to the SD card..
Now, since i get NO such icon, when i connect with USB debugging on.. i get the drive of the actual phone storage.. if i turn it off.. then just charges..
How can I either
A. get the usb notification icon back?
B. mount the SD card from within the normal Android OS (not having to boot into recovery..)
I saw this was posted by someone else on the Sprint Hero board.. but i thought i'd put it here incase someone else with an incredible had the same issue, and found the fix..
thanks!
