No, I have my phone tethered to my pc as I type this.

Is it not showing up at all on your pc?

Is your phone even charging?

When you hook your phone up and the drive pops up with a bunch of installation pieces, did you install your "drivers" from there?

Yep did that and I still get a prompt from the phone telling me that I need to subscribe to the mobile hotspot service.

Just uncheck those options. Set USB Network setting to None. Make sure Mobile Hotspot and BlueTooth tehtering are not checked.

I make sure my phone is unlocked and at any "home" screen. I plug in my cord and get two alerts on the phone. One dealing with debug (which I have turned off) and the other addressed above.

Go to your windows "My Computer" and look for HTC6435LVW at the "other" section. Its not going to list under Removable storage (at least not on Vista or XP).

Thanks for trying to help me through this. I have the drivers loaded, but Its just not making the HTC modem available through Windows. Im not sure but this MAY be a Windows 8 issue. Im going to try on a Windows 7 desktop and see if this changes things.

This might be a similar problem, but I'm trying to use the Internet Passthrough mode where you can use the computer's connection to the internet for the phone also. It won't let me do it. Even after I DL the phone drivers, I get a message saying I don't all the drives DLed and directing me to the HTC support website which incidentally doesn't even have the DNA listed yet.

Tried to tether via USB on another computer and get the same result. I would love to hear from a second person that can verify they are able to USB tether on their DNA. This seems broken to me on both Windows 7 and 8.

Works fine for me with USB tether mode. DNA to HP Laptop running Windows 7.

Thanks. A few questions for ya...

1. What mode do you put your phone in when you connect it so that you can perform USB tethering?

2. When you connect your phone does your usb debugging option automatically turn it self on?

I'm using PDANet for USB tether. It requires USB debugging to be active. And that the PDANet client be running on both ends.

Thanks. I will give that a shot, but I was looking for someone that hadnt loaded an app for the functionality.
