Hey, first post, so be gentle.
I have an Inspire 4G that was abandoned at my place of Business (Let it sit for 3+ months, nothing). Slight crack to the screen on the bottom right hand corner, and the volume buttons were so destroyed it needed a new Flex Cable thing replacement. Got it all done, unlocked, Factory reset, and everything works wonderfully, *BUT* (Theres always one aint there?). It wont detect Wifi Networks, AT ALL.
Im on Tmobile Edge service atm, and I can get it to connect to their Data page (Wont surf the net or anything via data atm), and I can get it to connect to the internet via my computer + HTC Sync.... But when i try to set up wifi I just get "Searching", never ending. When I try to create a Wifi profile "Searching" never goes away, otherwise it just sits there and alternates searching and not. My SSID IS enabled, and I live in an apartment complex where 2-5 other networks are visible at any given time, none of them show up..... Any thoughts?

I know I can upgrade its software, but I've read its harder to root once you do that, and I was thinking that might be a possible solution? IDK. Any advice would be appreciated.
