I'd love to see an Android device with Nokia camera and build quality, but forking Android isn't the right move - there's just no way that the device could compete with the selection of apps available from Google Play (unless, of course, it gets a tie-in with Amazon's app store perhaps).

I love the name though.

Maybe a 2-3 years ago. In less developed countries the cheap Chinese Android now reigns supreme. Nokia lost it.

if it is MS.. then i would guess.. they would make it with built in issues.
make it bad.. cause problems for the user.
give users a bad taste for low end android phones.. thinking that is how most android phones will be.

like MS ads and marketing.. low low low blows

Check the article. It says this was/is in development before the acquisition is complete. Sounds like it'll never come to fruition. Sad. Nokia makes solid hardware and cameras, would have loved to see a STOCK Android phone from them.

Meego also has an OS in development. Called Jolla or Sailfish.

If it did it would canibalise the Lumia 520's market, and I doubt MS would allow that given how well it sells.

It's the work of ex-Nokia staff though, not Nokia themselves. Nor does it run the Android OS, merely offering support for Android apps.
