Help .nomedia not working in 2 folders

OK, this seems real weird and I am sure I must be missing something obvious, but...

I have .nomedia files here and there, mostly in game folders and they work fine. However, I have two folders (one for a gameloft fame, the other for sims game) where the .nomedia seems to be ignored.

This has been this way for several months now so it has gone through reboots, etc. I have deleted the .nomedia files and put them back. I have them in the audio files folder and the parent folder.

No matter what I do the sound files from these folders always show up in the stock music app.

Any ideas on what is going on here?

I do also use PowerAmp, but no matter how I sort the files they never sort correctly so I use the library button instead of the folder button. The library button being the method to use the android version of audio files rather than the specific folder you tell PowerAmp to use. I spoke of the android media player only to keep things simple and on track, as I can confirm the android stock player does show these audio files from the game folders.
