Help non techy girl needs help :(

Thank you so much ironass! im definatly gonna try the s5 conversion rom first ): ok.so backup, wipe, flash using odin?

Read everything, carefully and thoroughly, first.

There is a motto that appears in most of my Dummies Guides...

ironass motto... "Flash in haste... repent at leisure" ;)

so iv downloaded my rom, and will start flashing soon, i also downloaded the ktweaker kernel and the touchwiz themes. how do i add all of those downloads to odin? do i intal te first rom, then start over and instalk the ktweaker and start over then instal the touchwiz, or di i simply put it all together and flash at once?

The Echoe ROM and the ktoonsez KT kernel are usually .zip files that are flashed in Recovery Mode and the themes are installed via the Echoe ROM app in the ROM. Perhaps you should study the Echoe ROM thread over on XDA before flashing.

iv run into a few issues. just small issues im pretty sure.
i read up on instaling the echo rom and all that , i havnt tried it yet. i am stuck at back up. my phone is rooted, but i have not installed any custom rom yet. when i click backup on twrp it says backup failed. its never done that before. what am i doing wrong?

Just to be clear, once your rooted and have a custom recovery you very rarely need to use Odin for much at all. As Ironass said most ROMs come as a flashable zip file. Follow the instructions for the ROM to the letter. The usual procedure for ROMs is download the zip file on your phone, go to recovery, do a Nandroid, do a full wipe then flash, but as I say follow the ROM instructions.

The obvious one is you haven't enough space to do one on your internal memory, use a file manager to swap a previous Nandroid to your micro SD card or cut and paste it over USB to your PC.

Goo Manager doesn't work for everyone as this video shows...

You can obtain the latest TWRP Recovery, v2.8, by going to the TWRP website and entering your model designation, jfltecan and select the Odin flashable .tar file.

Here is a video which explains how to flash Echoe ROM to a Galaxy S4...

(Whilst the video is for the i9505, it will give you some idea of what to expect)

Now that you are well and truly rooted mariag461, you are eligible to join the big boys and girls on the Galaxy S4 - All Things Root section of the forum, where you can receive more specific help and advice on rooting.
