Root Nonsensikal (Blue, Vanilla, Black)

i just downloaded and installed v 9.5 as my first froyo rom.
this is also the first cyanogen rom i have used
since initially rooting and then flashing xtrrom 3.03, i have stayed with
zach's stuff.
so far i'm really like this rom, but its hard to tell until i get everything set back up and give it a few days to settle in. i'll check back with any bugs or issues i have and to let everyone know how i like it.

when i decided to try a froyo rom i was back and forth between this and kaos. i chose this because it was pure cyanogen rather than mixed. shortly after flashing, i discover this thread and learn that the rom i picked was specifically "endorsed" by one of my favorite people on this forum: Frisco.

So far i havent been led astray by anything frisco has said or suggested so im hoping the same holds true here.
 
ok i've been running nonsenikal for a few days and so far i'm loving it
my phone is much snappier than it ever was before.
everything seems to be working great with one exception
i cannot get swype to run properly
it will install from their official installer and will open but i get a message saying that my version of swype is configured for a different device and will only operate with limited functionality meaning that i can tap out my messages, but i can't swype them.
i was wondering if anybody had any ideas or a possible fix?

I had to uninstall Swype (no the installer) and then reinstall and re-activate it. After that it worked fine. I had the same error.

Any version after 5.4 I have nothing but trouble with, 9.5 was the worse for me. Most of the time my phone would freeze up and reset itself, run extremely slow, and my battery would completely drain in about 7 hours. I have switched back to KaosFroyo and have not had any issues.

I do miss the theme of Nonsensikal but I am learning to theme my own and tweek things here and there.

I wish we were able to use Autokiller, then it would fix my problem. I don't know how to tweak the low memory killer through terminal.

Yeah, I never tired autokiller again with it ever since he said not too. I thought about trying it. Perhaps if I get back to using it again I will give it a try.
 
I might end up switching to KaosFroyo, because it seems like issues just keep popping up with this ROM, and I dislike the combination of the black and blue themes.
I would have to find a theme of some kind I like for KaosFroyo first though, because the vanilla theme is just ugly to me. >.<
 
Hey guys! I pulled nonsensikal from XDA for personal reasons but it is still available on grdlock's android ROM site. Also, you can follow updates on droid-eris.com, click the link in my sig. I will continue to offer updates until I move on to a new device, however, I am currently working on a bunch of other stuff so I may not be keeping up with things at the previous pace. Sorry for any confusion guys, thanks for your continued support :D

Didn't realize you had an alter ego. ;)

Glad that you are continuing development on NonsenSIKal. I think that slowing down is okay. Your ROM has matured a lot and I think that it's stable enough to go longer periods without an update. Thanks for all of your work on this ROM. I've enjoyed it! :)
 
Anyone having issues with the gallery loading? I may revert back to 9.5 or 9.0. I haven't decided yet. Is everyone else running 10.1?

I really enjoy this ROM.

My gallery loads fine. My problem with 10.1 is that words are cut off, like in my app drawer the name's of apps are cut off.
 
Hello Droid World...Been a long time since I posted. I just rooted my 2.1 OTA Eris. I installed 10.1 Vanilla. Loving it, while I sip my Bavarian Wild Berry Tea!

The only glitch I see is Beautiful Widget installs but won't download the Forecast Animation...I think that is them though, no?

Also my trackball is blinking like a lighthouse beacan on steroids for new email notification. How do I turn that off, or inject chamomile?
 
I never had that issue with Beautiful Widgets, but of course I turned off that option. I have the same issue with trackball notifications, and it annoys me to no end. I know there's a way to turn them off somehow, but I forgot how.
 
In handscent sms, you can change the LED trackball indicator setting. For missed calls, you can edit led setting inside setting --> call settings-->Missed call LED notify.

I, too have this problem and I went through all the tweaks (settings--CyanMod--User Interface---Tweaks &Notification colors). I can't find where it has the text for each item that is listed in the pull down.

I do have Vanilla 10.1 and then changed the theme to Black_Stock.
