Help NOOB here and need help on flashing Sprint SGS2 to Boost

I have a chance to pick up a 1 month old SPRINT SGS2 (Epic 4G Touch) for $150. How do I go about flashing the phone to boost. Is it as simple as just rooting the phone?

Also, when I called Boost to see if the ESN was good they said that the phone is not compatible with Boost because of the "programming". I thought all Sprint phones could be flashed to Boost. Am I wrong? Also, if I were to buy this and get it flashed to Boost how would I get them to accept the ESN?

The 4g will not work, but you can activate a sprint phone by changing the ESN but the legalities are questionable.
 
If it wasn't for Boost being obstinate, they could easily activate it. It is already set up to talk to sprint's network.

Find a good flashing service, they can flash it to Boost no problem even with a bad ESN.
