Help Noob Question #1

Do I have to load roms specific to my zte warp or can I install any custom rom for android powered phone? I'm not finding very many. I have read older posts saying there aren't many, so I was wondering what a few good ones are. I am rooted, but have mainly found themes. I have found a few, but no descriptions as to what they are for. I would mainly like to speed up my wifi hotspot or even find a way to enable all wifi devices, but anything would be helpful.

Roms are device specific because no android phone or device is exactly the same... for the warp we currently have 3 custom roms...
