Root Noob question about rooting

So i want to root when my phone comes in (6/23) but I was wondering what we would loose when we root. would we loose the sence ui? this is my first android phone let alone smartphone and im totally lost.

You don't lose a thing! In fact, you gain the ability to do more stuff! su, tethering, apps that require root access, ex:lamppu, wireless tether, titanium backup, shootme, and of course the ability to flash roms which comes later. and it's reversable.

awesome! the first day i get the phone im going to try to root it then.

anyone have a noob tutorial to what the commands mean and everything? everything i have read is in latin. how easy (or hard) would it be to brick the phone being that im a total noob.

Nothing will happen as long as your careful, I rooted for the first time myself! It was fairly easy and took about 15 mins. Just follow the video sticky in the Incredible All Things Root section.

It takes 15 minutes if you get lucky. As of now I am on my third day of unsuccessful root attempts. Good luck on your root though when you do get the phone.
