Sounds like this belongs in the root section, but oh well.

I'm running Skyraider 4.0, which is an enhanced version of 2.2 if I'm remembering right. It has some visual elements from Gingerbread and Sense 2.0. It's been very stable for me.

I really like cyanogenmod 7. It is very stable for me. I've tried others, but I always come back to this one.

Running CM7.0.3 and it's blazing fast. Just be sure to get the Google Apps zip file too and all is well. Tried several ROM's and this is the best I've seen.
