Root Noob questions

I'm rooted and running Midnight rom senseless, wanting to get the most out of this old phone. Cyanogenmod seems to be the way to go, but from my understanding I need to change my Hboot version first.
This is what it shows on my bootloader screen


***unlocked***
shooter xc ship s-on rl
hboot-1.57.0000
emmc boot

What steps do I have to take to get a Cyanogenmod rom?
Any help is appreciated.

You'll basically want to follow this guide: http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/695161-s-off-root-fix-everything-all-in-one.html

S-off is required to lower your hboot.
