Root noob to this phone

So I just got the attain from my friend and i've already updated it. Is there no root for the update yet? Also how come not much has been done with this phone? Are people contempt with it already?

Since you've updated it, now flash the rooted one THEN flash the deodexed/zip-aligned one.
We recommend it due to some people having problems with their data.
But nothing can really go wrong except if you re-partition. On Odin, UNCHECK REPARTITION BEFORE FLASHING. If you do all that, then you shouldn't have any problems ^.^

Alright thanks. Can i just flash the update if i want to unroot it?
 
Ok one more question lol. What is this repartition thing? With the odin i use i dont see this option also do i need the ops for this file or no?
 
Well for the Attain, we use Odin 1.85 and the ops is not necessary for our phone. I used that for my brother's admire, while I use a PIT file for my attain.
And now for the re-partition check-box it modifies the partitions in the wrong way, which hard bricks the attain and from there you will have to recover it. Trust me, that's how I had to get my second attain from the metropcs store.

So should I use that version of Odin to flash the tars? And where do I get the pit file then?
 
Well just incase i went and download 1.85. A lot more options i see. Should i leave everything unchecked except for auto reboot and f. reset time? And under files[download] do i choose phone?
