noob trying to change search from Bing

I'm New to smartphones I've seen in another thread that it's possible to change the default search from Bing to Google on a non rooted phone, but I'm not exactly sure how its done.
I'm trying to get the search button to open up Google.I saw a post that said you need launcher pro.I went to app store and found it but didn't install after it asked for permission to make phone calls I thought that was weird, but I'll get it if I need it.
Will I still be able to keep stock screens or do I have to pick new ones?.
After install is it self explanatory?, is this the best app for this?.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

It needs permission to launch the dialer app so it'd can launch the dialer app when you press the dialer icon.

So is it as easy as installing launcher pro and assigning what button press opens which app?.
Will I still be able to leave everything else as is, or will I need to re assign everything to open with launcher?.

Its pretty much that easy. Once you install it there will be a default configuration for dialer, browser, and app drawer. The rest of the screens are setup as you normally would. The buttons are what they normally would be except the search button brings up google search instead of bing.
