Help noobie question

Hello all. I'm new to this forum. I'm glad to be a part of this informative community. This is my first phone forum but i'm a member on lots of gun forums. I have a question, i recently aquirred a htc evo 4g, awesome phone by the way, anyway i was wondering if i needed a donor phone to flash my evo to boost?. If so i only have a galaxy prevail and didnt want to purchase another phone to do so. I have a guy locally that charges 65.00 dollars to flash it and he seems like a pro. would it be more cost effective plus easier to let him do it? thanks in advance
