Hey there folks, at the urging of EarlyMon in the IRC channel I have joined the forum!

I'm planning on getting a tablet as my first Android device and I'm looking for some opinions on the options out there. What's the most future-proof tablet currently? Any input is welcome: remember, I'm a noob!

We all were new here once Alayambo. Welcome to Android Forums. EarlyMon did not steer you wrong.. you will find lots of information and opinions here at AF... and all from users of the devices. I would like to suggest looking into our sub forums for tablets first. Click into each area for the devices you have an interest in and read up/ask questions. Everyone has a different opinion on what's best.. mostly based on what fits their needs the best. Only you can decide which tab will be best suited for you. Here is a link to the many Android tablets and a link to their discussion area.
Android Tablets & MIDs - Android Forums Once you have narrowed your search you might want to ask "which is best A or B" here: Android Lounge - Android Forums It's an area just for general Android questions and your query should be well received. Thanks for joining Android Forums and I hope you enjoy your time here.

Welcome to the AndroidForums, Alayambo .

Well, luckily, it looks like there's more and more choices every day (and the prices are dropping, too).

Certainly, a higher-end device that has recently been announced stands a good chance of getting ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0) and getting timely Android updates in the future.

Your best bet might be to visit some retailers and get some hands-on time with various tablets. That way, you'll be able to touch and feel how they operate, their weight, responsiveness, readability and viewability of the screen, etc. That should tell you a lot and let you know if the price matches the device's features.

Cheers and good luck. Glad you signed-up with us here at AF .
