If I attempt to root my phone and completly screw it up are there easy ways to just back it up to stock??

I have moved your thread to the all things root section since you are asking root related questions. This will ensure more people who have experience with root see your thread.
If you don't achieve root, nothing really happens to the phone. Its actually pretty hard to brick your device.
If you give me your H-boot number I can direct you to the correct rooting guide. To get your H-boot, pull the battery out of the phone, put it back in, and then hold power+volume down.
Post your H-boot number. It should be 2.16, 2.18, ect
