Root Nook Color Phiremod Wipe

Lurker
Hey Guys - I recently purchased a Nook Color that had Phiremod installed. The problem I am facing is the person who sold it to me left all there information on there

Can someone walk me through the process of wiping the device information but not messing with the rom? Im pretty sure I can run a wipe from clockwork mod recovery but just want to be sure before doing anything crazy.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

On nearly every Android device, you should be able to go to settings... privacy... factory reset.

OTOH, what version of Phiremod are you running, 6.2? 6.3?

A better solution IMO, would be to open Rom Manager, tap "Flash CWM Recovery" (top button) to make sure it works. Then tap "Download Rom" and choose "ClockworkMod Nightlies" on the top. Then choose anything higher than #160 (I like #160). It should prompt you to add Google Apps, and you want to check that check box.

When it's done downloading, it'll throw up a prompt with "wipe Dalvik cache" checked. IF you also check the "wipe data" check box, you'll end up with a rom that's only a couple days old, boots faster and won't have the previous owner's info.

You will need to use your own Google account and connect to your own wireless to continue after installing tho since it won't have any apps or settings.

Thanks for your help. I am running Phiremod 6.3

I tried going to privacy > factor reset, but it doesnt do anything. I thought it was kind of strange but maybe thought it had something to do with the Rom

Ill try the other method you stated and hopefully that works. I was just hoping there was an easier way to do this..

Thanks again for your response

Couldnt get that to work either :(

Does anyone have any other ideas? I just need to format back to the stock Phiremod and I was hoping it wouldnt be insanely difficult.

Thanks in advance

Couldnt get that to work either :(

I'm going to need a LOT better info to be of any help. What happens? Did it just reboot and that's it?

In RM, tap the top button... should say "success" and on the screen in the background should say "superuser granted access" or something similar.

Tap the second button, it should boot into recovery after your press "ok".

Pressing the "n" key should get you back to PhireMod.

If that works try it again.
