The touch screen on my rooted Nook Color was acting up last night with spots that did not seem to respond and app icons that would highlight but not launch. This response was somewhat random as sometimes a app would launch and sometimes it wouldn't. I keep my Nook in an M-Edge case, the kind where the Nook clips into a plastic bracket at the four corners. My first thought was that the clips were putting the touch screen under some sort of stress that was affecting it's responsiveness as the behavior seemed more normal when it was removed from the case. Today, however, it is working perfectly fine in the case. The only difference between last night and today is that it was on the charger when I had the problems. I have already noticed that the light on the USB cable stays green whether it is charging or not and also noticed that after a full night of charging the battery was only at 75% (this is a new, refurbished unit that I got just before Christmas). I know that the USB cable needs to be replaced but I am concerned about the screen even though it is working fine today. Are these clip in cases known to cause problems with the touch screen? Thoughts and user reports would be most appreciated.
