Has anyone downloaded and used the free Norton security program. I was told it will protect you in the event you should lose your phone'

I used Norton but went with lookout they do the same thing.

Is a virus program nec on these phones?

Norton/Lookout/similar Virus protection is basically Windows ideology ported to Android, which is Linux. Linux is very different. I'm not saying virus protection wouldn't be good to have, but Linux works so differently that I don't think Windows-style virus protection is worthwhile. Which leads me to question the motives of any company pitching such.
