Not a good year for entertainers...

Billy Paul today, he was 80.

"The American soul singer Billy Paul has died at the age of 80.

He was best known for his 1972 hit Me and Mrs Jones, which won a Grammy award and reached number one in the US."

Some of my memories of listening to this song on an old AM radio are still vivid. I was just 4 years old when this song came out but it dominated R&B (soul) radio in the 70s.

Celebrities and my relatives and friends from that era are slowly passing away at a rapid rate.

I'm surprised at how little coverage Chyna's death received. I'm not a wrestling fan, but the only thing I saw was a small article in the newspaper.

I think she died on the same day as Prince. I saw news reports of her death but when the reports started coming out (later that night) for Prince, she was pretty much forgotten

Apparently Anton Yelchin has died, "pinned by his car in his driveway" according to the page I'm looking at.

You'll know him a Chekhov in the Star Trek reboots, and he played Odd Thomas in the movie of the same name.

I just, I just can't speak of it, such a loss. With the 3rd in the Trek reboot coming out in just a few weeks time I am not sure how I can even watch it. :(

^^^ Agreed, and that loss (Robin) has been particularly hard on my wife, she still cries if she sees him on TV or hear's something about him in conversation.

I guess it's my age now that so many dear personalities are passing, but in the case of Anton, it's just so, so random, so early, so WRONG. A life snipped off at such an young age.
